Huckleberry

I found her in a roundabout way when another breeder recommended her.  It became clear quickly that Crystal was exactly the fit I needed to help in this process.  She is knowledgeable, communicative, patient, engaged and cares about her dogs.  While she is professional, these dogs are personal to her and it shows.

Huckleberry is the absolute love of my life.  She is 11 months old and a perfect 69 pounds.  Her black coat is so shiny it almost looks blue and her features are perfect.  She looks like an iconic Lisa Frank cartoon puppy from my childhood sticker book.

In addition to her stunning appearance, she is an even more impressive companion.   She is very curious and adventurous.  While she is a BIG with incredible power, she is also composed and respectful.  Her instincts are uncanny.  She will bulldoze a puppy playmate rolling around in the yard, and then give a small, 16-year-old senior dog the space and respect she deserves.   She will rough house with the big boys and then calmly engage with a toddler with curiosity and tenderness.  She loves a training session and enjoys knowing what to expect.  She is super smart and eager, so training has been fun and straight forward.  Since she is so incredibly eager, she rarely requires more than one redirection from unwanted behavior.

She is a confident, loyal, avid hunter who has never encountered water she didn’t want to explore.  She is super playful, energetic, and independent. She is a social butterfly who I am convinced would befriend a pack of wolves and make friends.

She is the perfect composition of working dog and silly playful pet.  Every day with her is more fun than the day before.  I will be back to Labs Adored in the future.

On behalf of of my whole family, we want to thank you for helping us through the process of getting our pup. I kept it a surprise from the kids when we went to go pick her up and you helped me by going along with my story when we got there. Thank you for taking pictures for us when we were too busy petting all the puppies and also taking photos when we selected ours. If it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t have those memories in photos. You were so hospitable when we were at your house, made us feel welcomed, answered all of the questions we had of how to care for our new pup. Our pup, Olive is now 10 months old and the best dog we could have ever asked for. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body and is SO good with our kids (5,6,12). We would 1000% go through this process with you again.

Sweetest disposition: The sweetest Lab I have ever had. Every Morning “Lotus” greets my Surf friends coming and going from the water. If she loves you, she really loves you.

Inherently Intuitive: Lotus has also proven to be an extremely intuitive dog. She has an innate understanding of who should be around and who should not. It’s amazing to watch.

Retriever: Although not a hunter Lotus has brought back more than a few birds from the beach. And fish, and sticks, balls...

Coat: By far the softest chocolate fur of any K-9 I have ever had. Extra great for snuggling.

Breeder: The amazingness of Crystal and family, are reflected in her pups. She kept me informed of my pup’s progress throughout the weening progress. Pick up was hassle free.

Stella: Lotus’s mom, Is the reason I picked this litter and breeder. She has all the aforementioned qualities.

Lotus is 95 pounds of perfect.

Thank you Crystal and Family.

I thought I was happy with my first chocolate lab, who is friendly, smart, athletic, and so easy to live with. But when I got my second puppy from Crystal, I found a new level of happiness with a dog. Islay, who was one of 13 in a litter from Crystal’s female dog and a male from a local breeder, is beyond sweet. She has a huge personality but not in any way a destructive one. She is affectionate and attentive and eager to learn and please us. She gets along with all dogs and has not one iota of aggressiveness. Never even seen her hackles go up. She’s a wiggly, cheerful dog.

I fully believe that early care influences dogs' – and childrens’! – temperaments and the early home-life Crystal offered was consistent, clean, and hands-on in terms of cuddling the little puppies so they felt safe. Islay is the easiest dog I’ve ever had, and I honestly chalk that up to her early care.

As far as interactions with Crystal, nothing could have been easier. We were allowed to spend time with the entire litter to figure out which puppy we wanted (not easy!) and Crystal was very communicative and responsive by text or phone. She was extremely motherly towards the puppies; it seemed like a very personal thing for her, not like a business. I would get another puppy from her in a heartbeat if I didn’t have two already!

During the first 8 weeks of the litters life she kept in touch, sent pictures whenever I wanted, and gave me great updates. Pick up was easy and organized and I didn’t feel rushed at all making the most important decision in my life at that time (picking my future best friend.) The paperwork and information was organized for me to take with me and my new pal.

Now, when I say that I could tell my sweet girl was clearly well loved and cared for, I truly mean it. She was already started out with potty training, was happy and healthy, and just loved people.

Fast forward 2 years and Maple is truly my best friend. She is super goofy and keeps us laughing everyday. She is so snuggly and overall just a happy dog. She has an overall aesthetic lab look and is gorgeous to behold. In her adulthood so far she’s in great health and I can’t wait to spend the rest of her life just hanging out together.
